On-Call Staff

We are a seventeen-bed community residential facility contracted with the Correctional Services of Canada.

 

You will be supervising adult males whom have been granted a conditional release by the Parole Board of Canada. This involves monitoring their parole conditions as well as their attitude/behavior in general. You will also offer them support in various areas during their reintegration back into the community. The supervision and support you provide will directly contribute to enhancing public safety by lowering recidivism rates.


This job consists of a mix of sociology, criminology and psychology. The experience will include working with people with disabilities, mental health challenges & those recovering from addiction. The men we work with include people from the First-Nations community, transgender persons, senior citizens and the socially marginalized population. Additional knowledge will be gained in the area of community resources (ie. subsidized housing, social assistance/disability, programming etc).

 

Persons with a diploma/degree in a related field will be given preference.  Applicants must be eligible to obtain an Enhanced Security Clearance from Public Works Canada. Eligibility for clearances requires applicants to have lived in Canada for a minimum of five years.  

 

There is room for growth within the organization, as full-time positions become available. A complete job description is available upon request. This position guarantees twenty-four hours per week at a rate of $25.50/hr.
